 Deacon Timothy Kenny

Tim was ordained in the year 2000 and served in his first assignment at Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Foxfield. Tim’s main assignment while at the parish was to work with the prisoners and develop a prison ministry for the parish at Arapahoe County Jail. “I have found my first three tears of diaconate life to be very full. I have been honored to help those in need and who seek to know Christ in their everyday lives, from the prisoners, to those who suffer in our own parish community. I am deeply humbled in my servant hood to Christ and often times feel that I receive more graces than those that I am able to share with others. I have enjoyed very much meeting and establishing relationships with all peoples.” Both May Sue and I feel that the diaconate has been a blessing for both us and our family.

My stated reasons for entering the Diaconate continue to guide me in my ministry; 1) to answer the call to God that I felt from a very early age, 2) to be of service to others, and 3) to devote the remainder of my life to God for all the many gifts he has bestowed upon me and my family. Fr. Andrew has asked that both Deacon Bob Cropp and I institute a new Ministry to the Parish called Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministry is a ministry of trained peer counselors who provide their services to members of the parish community who have suffered a loss in their lives either through the death of a loved one, through broken relationships or loss of employment. The ministry seeks to restore those to their former way of life while supporting them in their time of grief and mourning. “I look forward to working with the people and the staff at St. Thomas More Parish and help build a greater community of faith than what already exists. Through the help of God’s grace and those of his sacraments I am sure that this can be accomplished.”
